Spicy Pesto

When Basil season in here, you have to come up with new ideas of using this flavorful herb. Nothing new about using pesto, but what if you added a spicy twist to boring pesto? You will be surprised at how many different recipes  you can really use this spicy pesto. Add it to boring pasta or chicken, Burgers or wraps, heat will jazz up the flavors.


  • 2 1/2-3 Cups
    Fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 Cup
  • 1/4 Cup
    olive oil
  • 1/4 Cup
    Hot oil, Harbanero infused olive oil
  • 4-5 Pieces
    garlic cloves
  • Fresh lemon
  • 2 Teaspoons
    Sea Salt


  1. Add Basil leaves,pine nuts and garlic cloves to a food processor and turn it on. Drizzle olive oil and Harbanero infused olive oil oil into the mixture while the food processor is running. Add freshly squeezed lemon juice and sea salt (to taste). Spicy pesto is ready!

  2. If you don't have any hot oils, you can substitute it with some hot chili peppers, just increase the olive oil to 1/2 cup for the recipe.
